Arriving at the Garden Shoppes feels like stepping back into early Bahamian colonial times. The attractive vendors' cottages feature a New England style design. Shopping at the Garden of the Groves is to experience authentic Bahamian arts, crafts and products.
You will be able to meet some of the artists and artisans and watch them at their work. There is Gina putting the final polish or brush and colour design onto her exquisite coconut jewelry pieces. Or Tiffany at "Tiff's" will greet you with her lovely smile and continue to paint delicate flowers, fish, turtles or birds on a silk canvas. A purchase at the candle shop will remind you of your seaside vacation for a long time - all candles are beautifully decorated with shells from the sea. You will find books by Bahamian authors and books about the flora and fauna of the Bahamas and the Caribbean.
Fragrances of the Bahamas has produced island perfumes and colognes since 1969. The company creates an extensive variety of fragrances that stimulate the senses. Chrisann, the young, creative leader of her team, will proudly show of the new fragrances that were specially designed for the Garden of the Groves. The Labyrinth shop specialises in items pertaining to the Labyrinth -- books, jewelry, miniature Labyrinths and shirts and the fine healing products for body and skin from its own garden. Mrs. Barbara Chester, the person who, together with her group of volunteers, created the replica of the Chartre Labyrinth here at the Garden of the Groves is frequently in residence here to patiently and lovingly answer all questions about labyrinths! And you would not want to miss the logo wear shop, where hats, shirts, aprons, fleece vests etc are embroidered with the endearing little hummingbird that represents the Garden.
